I wish there was something utterly terrible I could say about The Morning Of. There isn't. It would make this article way more interesting. Being who I am, I'm typically brutally honest when it comes to reviewing things. With that said, in all honesty, there isn't anything I would change about these incredible people.
When I first met the band back in February of 2007, they were so upbeat and a breath of fresh air. Truly, if I had to describe their latest album, The World As We Know It, that's what I would say. Upbeat and fresh. Let's work our way backwards, shall we?
Their latest creation, which dropped in the middle of summer '07, is one of the essentials on all of my playlists. You have the songs like Let Your Spirit Soar that will cheer you up no matter how terrible you're feeling, then the ones that get you thinking like The New Is In. Listening to the full album, you understand how much thought, heart and work went into this admirable creation. The songs will be stuck in your head for days, the lyrics will sink into you, and you'll become addicted. I promise.

Some months earlier, a few days before Christmas, The Morning Of released The Digital EP, consisting of three songs to get you pumped for their upcoming full length album. There has never been three songs that made me want to dance anymore than these. Two being dance mixes by Goot, and one being an acoustic version of A Barrel Tapped At Both Ends, a song from their first album. Along with two bran spankin' new songs, a new beginning had set in for T-MO. Members were lost, however a very delightful young lady by the name of Jessica Leplon was the new other half of the vocals. I got the opportunity to talk to Jess during an interview a few months back, and I just have to say that she brings so much class to the group. The Digital EP will make you want to dance through your house in your underwear..Seriously.
We'll go back to last year, when I had no idea who these kids were, but stood in front of the stage and was completely astonished by their sound. I am confident in saying that I had never heard anything like them - and still, to this day, have not. They played one song that got stuck in my head, A Beautiful Place, Not a Beautiful Face. The lyrics were incredibly catchy, they danced, and you could really see how much heart this group puts into everything. Welcome Change, Goodbye Gravity is something that is so ingenious, relatable, and incredibly fierce.
Jessica, Abir, Rob, Chris, Jimmi and Justin are not only some of the most talented people I've ever met, they're the most sincere. I, along with many others adore every other song they've created, and I have no doubts that you will too. Will all of that said, and in the words of Jessica Leplon, to life to glory goes the toast.
